“Ni siquiera un macrohit garantiza una fecha de edición digna”. Así de amargamente se queja un comentarista de Popjustice sobre la fecha de lanzamiento del nuevo disco de Sam Smith, quien acaba de comunicar que el álbum se llamará ‘Gloria’, pero no saldrá hasta el 27 de enero.
Tras los lanzamientos de Taylor Swift y Arctic Monkeys de este viernes, tenemos un calendario ligeramente liberado de discos importantes a nivel mundial en noviembre y diciembre. Nadie del tamaño de Adele ha fechado su disco en los dos meses del año que quedan.
Habiendo sido ‘Unholy’ junto a Kim Petras un contundente número 1 en Reino Unido y un macroéxito a nivel mundial, habría cabido esperar que Sam Smith sacara disco para Black Friday y Navidad. Pero no será el caso. Desconocemos si por estrategia, porque alguien sabe que aguarda álbum de Rihanna, la segunda parte de ‘RENAISSANCE’, las dos cosas a la vez o algo que ni nos imaginamos; o simplemente porque van a esperar a que se fabriquen los vinilos, ‘Gloria’ pasa a 2023.
Los créditos visibles en Apple Music muestran que el disco se abrirá con la también conocida ‘Love Me More’ y que habrá colaboraciones o producciones de James Napier, Steve Mac y Ed Sheeran en el que será el cuarto disco de Sam Smith.
